The VIA Program motivates and extends students through:
providing access to progressive, challenging, accelerated and tailored curriculum;
addressing the individual academic needs of high-achieving learners with an explicit and continuous focus on the development of Creativity and Innovation;
incorporating project-based, self-directed learning programs that encourage the development of 21st and 22nd century learning skills and competencies;
promoting and modelling the value of independent and collaborative approaches to learning; and
access to partnership programs with external providers including the Victorian High Ability Program and Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Programs.
VIA is a program designed to challenge and push talented or gifted students in a variety of areas; students participate in a range of programs as part of their normal school day that encourage them to think at deeper levels, collaborate with others, and produce work of a higher level than might otherwise be expected.
VIA is a program that is not suitable for every student; it takes considerable dedication across organisational, social and academic pursuits in order to not only handle the extra expectations but to also gain the best possible results from the opportunities offered. If this program is of interest to you, please have the student applicant complete the following form; it will be forwarded to the Head of VIA and High Ability Learning and the Leadership Team for consideration and short listing for the next VIA enrollment stage.
