SWPBS – School-wide Positive Behaviour Supports (Primary) Positive Developmental Model (Secondary) The goal of School-Wide Positive Behaviour Supports - SWPBS (Primary Campus) and the Positive Developmental Model (Secondary Campus) is to create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment that enhances our College culture where we maximise individual academic and social growth. The model supports the promotion and explicit teaching of positive and expected behaviours in the learning environment.
Respectful Relationships Respectful Relationships aims to embed a culture of respect and equality across our entire College community. The Respectful Relationships program supports the promotion and modelling of respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. Through the program, students are supported to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.
Personal, Social & Emotional Learning The Lakes implements a robust Personal, Social and Emotional Learning program that is scaffolded to be age- and developmentally appropriate from F-12. The program incorporates elements of social skill development, emotional regulation, personal learning capabilities. The program, implemented during SWPBS sessions on Primary and Connect on Secondary also incorporates resilience, personal safety, body safety, eSafety, anti-bullying, conflict resolution, mental health and wellbeing.
Child Safety Victoria's Child Safe Standards, based on Ministerial Order 1359, outline the ways schools can protect children and young people from harm and abuse. The Lakes actively works to implement the 11 standards by:
