The Lakes seeks to become a learning community that is acknowledged for the quality of relationships between all community members, its innovative curriculum program and the extraordinary achievements of its students.
We seeks to meet the needs of our students as they grow from beginning Prep students supported by structures and programs that create a seamless transition between primary and secondary education through to young adults taking full advantage of an innovative and challenging learning environment within the school and linking with opportunities in the wider community.
The Early Year curriculum will focus on the building the foundations while the Middle Years curriculum will integrate key learning areas, engage students in authentic active learning experiences and focus on the development of literacy, numeracy, deep thinking, information and communications technology, social competencies and personal growth.
The Lakes seeks to ensure that students become lifelong learners, reflective and creative thinkers and responsible and active citizens.
Our Facilities
The Lakes enjoys outstanding physical resources that enable us to provide students with the best possible educational opportunities.
The Early Years Campus enjoys a learning street with open plan flexible learning spaces, a specialist art room and library resource centre. Together with Merriang SDS we share a Music Performing arts area and multipurpose facilities including ½ size indoor basketball court. Students will also have access to a canteen and a homecrafts space
The Middle Years Campus specialist facilities include exceptional computer access in all areas with fibre-optic cabling between all buildings, a learning street with open plan flexible learning spaces, a state of the art Research and Development centre housing specialist science rooms an environmental science space with hot house, specialist wood, metal, plastics, electronics and design studios, a Recreation centre including indoor basketball stadium, Music and performing Arts Centre, Canteen and Food Technology and developing sports grounds. An Art precinct caters for Creative arts, Multimedia and Textiles.
The Lakes was a Finalist in the Premiers School Design Awards in 2007 and 2008. We are very proud of our facilities and regularly host visitors from interstate and overseas. Oaten Stanistreet, our architects, have really delivered.

General Information
At The Lakes we seek to become a school that is acknowledged for the quality of relationships between all school community members, our innovative curriculum program and the extraordinary achievements of our students. A key feature of the school is that the curriculum and structure have been designed to enable teachers, students and parents to develop close and positive relationships with each other. We believe that students learn well and teachers teach well, when they know each other, respect each other and have the trust and willingness to work together.
Our school structure allows individuals to develop and learn in a safe, supportive and stimulating environment.
